Welcome to Parmer County Museum, a non-profit supporting the history of Parmer County.

The Parmer County Museum is dedicated to collecting the record of life. History is the factual record of people and the events which influenced their lives. The museum's purpose is to present Parmer County, its origin, and its status at the beginning of 1876.

The Parmer County Museum began as the “First Church in Friona,” dedicated on May 23, 1909. It was a wooden structure that served the community for 12 years. Unfortunately, that structure was struck by lightning and burned in 1921. Later that year, a new adobe chapel was completed.
