Parmer County Communities

Parmer County was created on August 26, 1876. The county was named for Martin Parmer, an early settler and a member of the Texas Constitutional Convention of 1836. Parmer County was part of the 3,050,000-acre XIT Ranch. Parmer county was one of the ten counties which made up the Capital Syndicate Land Grant, which built the present State Capital.
